PRE SALES FAQ

  • Are demo versions of our software available?
  • Sorry, Kaosweaver doesn't provide demo versions of the software. Macromedia has no way to ensure that demo software will be able to be enforced as demo software.
  • Are donations required to use the non-commercial software?
  • Absolutely not. The donation is appreciated, but not required, even if the extension will be used for commercial purposes. Links for downloading the product are available to the left of the details page for the extension.
  • What is the EULA on using this product?
  • Here is the EULA. Most people want to know if they can use it on multiple computers. The quick answer is yes, we license a single person to use the product on however many computers needed or we license a single computer to have the software on it regardless of the number of users (these are mutually exclusive, either one person or one machine not a little of both). The individual license is also cross platform should it need to be used on a Windows or Macintosh computer.
  • Are the products and documentation in non-English languages?
  • Sorry, no they are only in English at this time. If you would like to translate the documentation, please contact us and we'll compensate your time.
  • Are press/charity/hardship/educational/military discounted or free licenses available?
  • Kaosweaver approves these on a case-by-case basis. If you're interested in a reduced license fee for some of Kaosweaver's products and/or free product, please send us an email. We will respond with an answer to your request.
    • Press requests must be made by known press organizations, must have a history of product reviews and must include membership/readership demographics. Press licenses are strictly for demonstration and reviewing purposes not to be used for any commercial, non-commercial, personal or other type of web site except to demonstrate the product. Press licenses are free.
    • Charity requests need to include the name of the organizations, IRS status (if in the USA), location on public web site where it will be used and a link to the charities philosophy, mission statement or goals and objectives as well as the charity's intended beneficiaries. Charity licenses will range from 75% of the product price to free depending on our judgment.
    • Hardship licenses will be considered for those who aren't in an economic area where the license price of our software exceeds what could be expected from the economy. Hardship requests will require a physical letter from you to us with some of your local paper currency enclosed prior to granting the hardship license. Hardship licenses will be the cost of the letter and local paper currency send to Kaosweaver.
    • Educational requests need to include name of school, if public - the school district, the intended use of the product (educational for students or use in web site), the school web site URL, the district web site URL. The product cannot be used for any commercial purpose, nor any personal purpose, the product must be exclusively used for the school's web site or educational purposes of students. Educational licenses will be 75% of the product code to free depending on our judgment.
    • Military requests - these must be made from a USA military email address, must only be used for military web sites or personal web sites of military personnel and will be 50% off the listed price.
  • What is the privacy policy about collected information?
  • Please see our privacy policy. Short form - we don't give or share any information with anyone unless forced to by law.
  • Are Kaosweaver accounts required?
  • Yes. We need an account in order to track what you've ordered so if you lose the product and need to get it back, all that is required is to sign in to your account to retrieve your purchase.

PAYMENT FAQ

  • What are the acceptable payment options for orders?
  • We accept Paypal and checks.
    • Paypal - requires a Paypal account, you can sign up for one if you don't have one, it requires a credit card statement to be available for verification purposes. We are not affiliated with Paypal, we just allow people with Paypal accounts use them to make purchases with us. Paypal is not available in all areas.
    • Checks - this includes money orders as well. We accept international money orders made in United States dollars (USD) for the purchase total.
  • What is the turn around time from ordering to delivery?
  • Depending on the method of payment, the delivery time varies. The list below covers the payment type and expected delivery time. Please keep in mind, all deliveries are by the customer login in and selecting to download the extension and any documentation as well.
    • Paypal eChecks
    • These payments take up to 4 business days to process.
    • Paypal
    • These payments are processed immediately.
    • Checks
    • All check and money order orders will be processed when the payment clears our bank. The only exception is United States Postal Money Orders from the USPS which are processed immediately upon receipt.
  • What is a Paypal eCheck?
  • Paypal eChecks are payment which draw off of the customer's bank account. Paypal submits an electronic transfer from the bank and when the money arrives, passes it along to Kaosweaver. If you make an eCheck payment, you can check the status of the payment on your details tab (it will be label uncleared until the payment has been sent to Kaosweaver). Since Kaosweaver hasn't been paid, we do not deliver the product until Paypal submits the payment to us. We apologize for the delay, however, this is Paypal's policy. Finally, Paypal will send us notification some time after the payment is marked as cleared (usually within 4 to 6 hours) and when we receive the notification, the purchase will be processed. If the payment has cleared and you haven't received the notice from Kaosweaver, feel free to send us an email and we'll check the order and push it through if Paypal is late in sending us a notice.
  • What payment information does Kaosweaver collect?
  • Kaosweaver collects no payment information from our customers. We do not collect paypal account information beyond the paypal email address used. We do not collect credit card numbers and we do not store any check information. Our systems contain no additional information on payment data of any kind.
  • Can Kaosweaver just charge the card used in the last order?
  • Sorry we cannot. We do not store any payment information.

PRODUCT DELIVERY

  • How is the product delivered?
  • The product is delivered via a download.
  • What about documentation?
  • Documentation links are zipped file and the link to download them is just below the link for the extension. If the extension has no downloadable documentation, no link will be present.
  • Recovering lost products?
  • Simply log into your account and download the product again. We limit downloads to 5 prior to having to reset the counter. We apologize for the hassle.
  • Special needs?
  • If the standard delivery methods are unacceptable for your organization, please contact us for the preferred delivery method and we can come to an agreement.

POST SALES

  • I've paid, where is my product?
  • Depending on the method of payment, the order can take some time to process, check the payment options above for details on delivery time.
  • I've checked the delivery time, I should have the product by now, where is it?
  • First, we are sorry the order isn't delivered, our system may have failed or it may have rejected the order or marked it pending or Paypal may have failed to send us a correctly formed notice. A variety of reasons may exist that is preventing your order from being completed and we would like to know. Please contact us with the method of payment, order number, your email address used at Kaosweaver for loging in and the product(s) ordered. With the volume of orders we process, we have attempted to automate as much of the process as we can and when something goes wrong, we may not know. If you've ordered outside of our business hours, we may not be able to respond until the next business day (although we usually work weekends as well) during our business hours (typically from 7am Central Time USA - GMT +6 - to about 10pm CST USA). If you placed an order outside of this time and have sent us a notice, we will receive the email the following day and be of assistance as soon as possible.
  • I am unhappy with the product?
  • We are sorry our product failed to meet your expectations. Please contact us so that we may be of assistance in resolving the problem.
  • Do you offer refunds?
  • Yes. If you're unhappy with the product, please visit the support page and we will work with you to resolve the issue or, if it is within 60 days, give you a refund. More details are available here.
  • Do you have printed manuals?
  • At this time, printed manuals are far too expensive to produce for our products.

UPGRADES

  • What is the upgrade policy?
  • All minor enhancements and bug fixes are free. Major revisions are charged full price.
  • How can I be notified about the update?
  • Sign up for the newsletter, all updates will be featured in a section of the newsletter.
  • How can I stop being notified about the updates?
  • Unsubscribe to the newsletter (you can do this in your account, one simple click does it).
  • I just bought a product that was upgraded, do you have a free upgrade period?
  • We offer free upgrades to those who purchased the upgraded product during the prior 30ish days to the release of the announcement of the new product. For instance, if we announce a new version of a product on July 1st that will be released on July 15th, if you purchased the current product by June 1st, we will upgrade you to the new product for free. If the new product has a price increase you will need to pay the difference between the products in order to get the newest release. Of course, you are *NOT* required to upgrade at any time.
